The idea of hidden secret chambers , caverns, tunnels and passageways under the Egyptian Sphinx, indeed under all of the Giza Plateau, is not a modern concept, but actually derives from the Ancient Eyptians themselves. References from the Pyramid Texts (PT, Old Kingdom , 5th Dynasty, Pyramid of Unas,2500-3000 BC), and the Coffin Texts (CT, early Middle Kingdom 2250-1580 BC) allude to several mysterious and "secret" locations. ROSTAU was the AE name for the entire Giza Plateau Necropolis, both above and below ground. SOKAR was its divine protector diety. DUAT is the NetherWorld, but as R.O.Faulkner states: "to the early Egyptians the Duat embraced not only the world beneath the Earth, but also part of the visible Sky". Indeed, the Roads of Rostau lead to the gates of the ways to the Underworld, and thus, to the AfterLife. It is what I call the DUAT DUALITY: the deceased pyhiscal body was buried and entombed underground, but the everlasting immortal AKH-spirit was to enjoy everlasting life as one of the "Imperishable Stars". Indeed, after casting away all the spells, the simple eternal concept that was , and still is, the central message of all the AE texts is that after we die, our spirit lives on in the AfterLife, eternally, amongst the Stars of Heaven. A breathtakingly beautiful idea and concept indeed!

Although described as being drawn in a "childlike" nature, they offer a fascinating starting point for our search for the real and defining maps to the ancient underground tunnels and chambers of the Giza Plateau; the Rostau of legend!
In the mid 1990's many of us researchers gathered together "virtually" in various forums and email lists on the Internet, to discuss and debate the goings on that occurred at that time in Giza. FOX TV broadcast its "Opening the Lost Tomb of Osiris", which only fueled the seacrch for the Secret Chamber under the Sphinx. We were all looking towards the Millenium, and wondering outloud if the year 2000 would bring the famed Hall of Records to light.
